[Don't turn away Dry your eyes, dry your eyes Don't be afraid But keep it all inside, all inside When you fall apart Dry your eyes, dry your eyes Life is always hard For the Belle of the Boulevard That song you softly sing Is keeping you from breaking]
About a month ago, I came across an article about a loft whose walls are covered with 25,000 ping pong balls! The tenant is an employee at the Brooklyn based firm Snarkitecture. I found the space intriguing...
So yesterday afternoon, I had to have my 11 year old cat put to sleep. He had been having health issues for awhile and in a just a few days he became really sick. He was a sweet old man. Love and miss you Boo Boo. He was a great buddy and kept me company in my new apartment.

“Life is like a box of crayons. Most people are the 8-color boxes, but what you're really looking for are the 64-color boxes with the sharpeners on the back. I fancy myself to be a 64-color box, though I've got a few missing. It's ok though, because I've got some more vibrant colors like periwinkle at my disposal. I have a bit of a problem though in that I can only meet the 8-color boxes. Does anyone else have that problem? I mean there are so many different colors of life, of feeling, of articulation.. so when I meet someone who's an 8-color type.. I'm like, "hey girl, magenta!" and she's like, "oh, you mean purple!" and she goes off on her purple thing, and I'm like, "no - I want magenta!"”
I found this John Mayer quote today. I just love him. I really enjoy that feeling of hopefulness in it.
"Even if you think the flame has died, there's at least one lyric that'll hit that last hot spot, and then you'll find yourself as f#!%ed as you were the day you lied and said you never wanted to see her again." - JM
Tonight I am going with a friend of mine from work, Nicole, to a wine tasting at The Wine Cellar! I am very excited because tonight they are featuring Sparkling Wines of the World - Champagne Tasting. Can't wait to get our bubbly on!
We went for the first time last month with 2 other friends from work and had a great time. If anyone wants to look at a schedule of events they host you can visit here. It's a cozy little venue with a fun atmosphere and great appetizers. Woohoo can't wait!
I made a wonderful little discovery last week. I use Firefox when surfing the web (: and last week their homepage featured this website. firefoxlive.org I'm not really sure why they are doing it, but for the next several months you can go to the website and watch a live webcast of these 2 precious Red Pandas AKA "Firefoxes" at the Knoxville Zoo! They are ADORABLE! I believe you can also donate to the zoo on the website if you feel led. But several times last week i found myself watching Spark and Ember (sisters) play in their little habitat. They are SO cute! I will probably watch them for hours over the next several months. [A few photos...]
the last 2 images are taken with night vision. i love them.
So i'm at work on this "Blustery Day" (Winnie the Pooh reference, anyone?) with my corn bag warmed up to stay warm because for some reason the people in my office think it is necessary to run the AC in the middle of the Winter...oh well. Listening to music while working. Here is my Monday playlist (definitely helps the time pass)... Ke$ha | Cannibal
I decided right around Christmastime that I wanted to start collecting a Department 56 Village. My Mom has collected Dickens' Village and Snow Village for years and I would like to get a collection going for myself (:

one day last year (: i was looking at Kirsten Blower's blog and she had a post about Bacon Jam. I thought it was a weird concept, but i find myself now wishing i had indulged a little for Christmas. so i may be discovering a new love or just trying a very strange new condiment soonish. either way, i will be sharing my thoughts at a later date!
